Hiker hurt rock-climbing in Idyllwild

A woman was injured Sunday during a rock-climbing accident in Humber Park in Idyllwild, one day after another climber was killed near the same area.

Firefighters were dispatched at 9:32 a.m. to the “Lunch Rock” climbing section of Tahquitz Peak, situated above the park.

A helicopter crew hoisted the woman up after she fell during her climb, Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Jody Hagemann said.

The climber was taken to a hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.

On Saturday, a man died after a fall near Tahquitz Peak.
