Landscaping project will affect traffic on Ramon Road

Landscaping improvements will be installed along Ramon Road in Cathedral City beginning Monday, July 28.

Officials said the the project will take place in the medians between Date Palm Drive and Landau Boulevard and the work is expected to last for about eight weeks.

Crews with Conserve Landcare will be working Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m., except for legal holidays.

The project will obviously affect traffic along Ramon Road, but officials said at least two lanes of through traffic will be available at all times. Access to businesses will be open as well.

Some cross-streets or left turns may be temporarily inaccessible at times, but only for a short period, according to the release.

The construction project includes installing irrigation piping and controls, landscape plants and trees, hardscape concrete and decorative rocks in the medians.

Officials said the design is consistent with the previously installed median landscape on Ramon Road between Date Palm Drive and Da Vall Drive.
