Elderly woman ID’d after being found dead in hot tub
There has been another drowning in the Valley involving a senior citizen.
Riverside County Sheriff’s deputies and Cal Fire responded Thursday just after 11:30 a.m. to a call of a drowning in the pool area of the Park West Mobile Home Park in the 64000 block of Pierson Boulevard, near Desert Hot Springs.
The Sheriff’s Department said an elderly woman was discovered lifeless in the jacuzzi by a park staffer.
The Riverside County Coroner’s Office identified the woman as 75-year-old Kathleen Roberts. The investigation into her death continues.
“Foul play does not appear to be a factor at this point, we believe it’s a medical issue or it was a drowning. We’re still looking into it. However, no foul play is suspected,” said Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Juan Zamora.
Attempts by paramedics to revive the woman by CPR failed. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident at the mobile home park follows the drowning of 89-year-old Nathan Selikson in a pool at a home in Rancho Mirage Tuesday night.
