Suspected drunk driver arrested after crashing into stalled truck

A Cathedral City man was arrested Tuesday night on suspicion of drunk driving after he crashed into an unoccupied pickup truck that was stalled out in the road.

The crash happened at about 10:53 p.m. on Ramon Road and Bob Hope Drive. The Rancho Mirage Police Department was called to the scene.

According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, 54-year-old Patrick Carleton was driving a Nissan Versa when he collided into the stalled truck. He and the three passengers in his car were taken to the hospital.

There were no major injuries reported in the crash.

Carleton was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and was booked into the Riverside County Jail in Indio.
