An exclusive tour of the iconic Two Bunch Palms Resort and Spa

Often talked about, highly heard of, but little known about – Two Bunch Palms Resort and Spa.

“The artisan hot mineral springs on our property have been flowing her for six centuries,” Two Bunch palm CEO Kevin Kelly said.

It’s tucked away in Desert Hot Springs. Before I take you on our exclusive tour of the legendary spa, let’s take a look back.

“Going back over 100 years in settlers’ journals, they talk about finding shade and water for their horses at these two bunches of palms in the desert,” Kelly said.

You can actually see the two bunches of palms.

“We are standing on a natural oasis in the desert. We go back for 600 years,” he said.

The relaxation starts with the mineral waters.

“There’s a great amount of minerals in the water. Our water has small amount of sulfur so no smell, also lithium . Minerals good for the skin but also the lithium is a calming agent,” Kelly said.

So it was always a desert hot spot right? Wrong, kind of.

“More of our LA celebrities know and use it than does our own Palm Springs Residents,” he said.

Speaking of, look who we bumped into – Paul McCartney’s step sister.

“I started coming in 1985 many years ago when it was dirt lot, the water was still. People used to shoot out here that’s how I discovered it. Then in an episode of 6 Feet Under, I they were talking about it,” Ruth McCartney said.

With new locals discounts and events, more locals are enjoying the property than before. Also new – building a 3.5 acre solar field.

“That’s a little over the 100% of our energy needs for 2013 so now we are the first carbon neutral resort in North America,” Kelly said.

Also, renovated rooms.

“Our rooms have more sustainable materials in them, our beds are certified,” he said.

“It’s a slice of heaven 90 minutes form LA. Not just the water, treatments, healers,” McCartney added.
