President Obama visiting Palm Springs on Feb. 14th

President Obama will be returning to the Coachella Valley as part of a visit to California next week. This will mark the fourth time the President has visited our valley in less than two years.

The President will be traveling to San Francisco on Thursday where he will stay overnight, and then he will head to Palo Alto on Friday to deliver remarks at the Summit on Cybersecurity and Consumer Protection at Stanford University, to help shape public and private sector efforts to protect American consumers and companies from growing threats to consumers and commercial networks, according to a release from the White House.

Following the President’s remarks, he will host a roundtable discussion with business leaders. In the evening, the President will deliver remarks at a DNC event, officials said.

Finally, on Saturday, President Obamawill depart San Francisco and travel to Palm Springs where he will remain overnight. Further details about the President’s travel to California will be made available in the coming days.

News Channel 3 and CBS Local 2 have confirmed that Sunnylands will be open that weekend for business and no special events have been cancelled.

In June of 2013, President Obama met with Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Sunnylands Estate in Rancho Mirage. Then, in February of 2014, the President met with King Abdullah II of Jordan, also at Sunnylands. He then returned five months later for a weekend getaway with First Lady Michelle Obama and their daughter Malia at a private home in Rancho Mirage.
