SoCal men caught allegedly using stolen credit cards in Palm Springs
Three men were arrested for staying at a Palm Springs hotel using someone else’s credit card information, police say.
Lieutenant Gustavo Araiza says Saturday afternoon at around 3:30, an employee at a Downtown Palm Springs hotel got a phone call from someone in Sunnyvale, saying their credit card showed fraudulent activity at the hotel. The employee alleged that the card was being used by multiple guests at the hotel.
Palm Springs Police responded to the hotel and identified 43-year-old Christopher Michael Kollenburn of Culver City, 26-year-old Gregory Lorenzo Gonzales of Yucaipa, and 30-year-old Tony Hannah of West Covina as potential suspects of the alleged fraud. During the investigation, officers located additional evidence associated with identity theft and credit card fraud.
Officers also discovered drug paraphernalia, multiple vials of suspected gamma-Hydroxybutyric acid (GHB), approximately 42.5 grams of suspected Methamphetamine and packaging materials associated with drug sales.
Two hours later, police received a call from a credit card holder in Orange County, reporting their card had been used to reserve a hotel room at a different hotel in the downtown area of Palm Springs. Evidence obtained in that investigation identified Tony Hannah as a potential suspect.
The three men are charged with multiple felony counts including fraud, burglary, and drug posession. Gonzalez also had a warrant out for his arrest in San Bernardino County.
