Uncle speaks out on deadly home invasion shooting

A man identifying himself as an uncle of the man shot and killed by a homeowner in Bermuda Dunes says his nephew was a good father and wouldn’t have hurt anyone.

The uncle says 32-year old Cesar Garcia wasn’t a criminal.

He does admit Garcia may have been drunk when he approached homes in Bermuda Dunes early Saturday morning.

Garcia was shot and killed in what police are calling an act of self defense.

The uncle says Garcia is survived by three sons and worked at the Best Buy store in Palm Desert.
