7th man arrested for gang-related armed robberies

The chain of arrests continues in connection to multiple armed robberies that occurred throughout the Coachella Valley beginning in the summer of 2014. Jesus Parra, 18, is the seventh Coachella gang member taken into custody for allegedly taking part in the crimes.

The sheriff’s department said Parra was wanted in connection to an armed robbery that took place on September 27 at the Fastrip convenience store, located in the 51000 block of Harrison Street in Coachella.

Parra was arrested Thursday morning after the Coachella Valley Violent Crime Gang Task Force helped serve two search warrants; one in the 53000 block of Avenue 50 in Coachella and the other in the 68000 block of Polk Street in Thermal.

Parra wasn’t at either of the locations but officers found him later in the 85000 block of Avenue 50. He was arrested for armed robbery and using a firearm in the commission of an armed robbery.

He was booked into the Riverside County Jail in Indio and his bail was set at $75,000.

The other documented Coachella gang members previously arrested for the string of armed robberies are:
