Man recovering after being shot in Palm Springs

A man was hospitalized over the weekend after being shot in Palm Springs early Saturday morning.

Officers were called out the the 300 block of Bon Air Drive around 2:30 a.m. after reports of shots being fired in the Desert Highland area.

When police arrived they found a man with a gunshot wound to his leg.

Officers say the man was in his car on Bon Air Drive, when someone came up to the driver’s side window with a gun and demanded money.

The victim said he had no money, police say the suspect began to assault him. The victim then gave the suspect some of his property and the suspect started to flee the area.

Authorities say the suspect then shot the victim as he was getting out of his car and took off. The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
