Three arrested in alleged Coachella Valley burglary spree

Three men are in jail, two others are at large, connected with a string of burglaries throughout the Coachella Valley, police say.

Five suspects were seen driving off from a robbery on the 72000 block of Highway 111 Friday night in Palm Desert. No weapons were used during the crime and no one was hurt. The Palm Desert Burglary Suppression Unit assumed the investigation and responded to the 55000 block of Wade Street, Thermal.

Police arrested three of the suspects, 19-year-old Benito Sanabria, 18-year-old Sebastian Sanabria, both of Thermal, and a 17-year-old boy. Two other suspects, described only as hispanic men, got away in two different Mustangs, one black and one green.

Investigators believe the men are responsible for a rash of burglaries in Palm Desert, La Quinta, and Cathedral City during the first week of May. The suspects have stolen several large televisions from a local chain-retailer, police say.

Benito and Sebastian Sanabria, and the juvenile were booked on second degree robbery and burglary and criminal conspiracy. Each of the men were being held on $30,000 bail.

Their familial relationship was not immediately released.

The adults were booked into the Riverside County jail in Indio and the juvenile was sent to the Indio juvenile hall.

Deputies asked anyone with information to call the Palm Desert sheriff’s station at (760) 836-1775. Anonymous tipsters can call (760) 341-7867.
