Man arrested while driving stolen Lexus in Palm Springs
A Palm Springs man was arrested on Wednesday after police spotted him driving a Lexus that was stolen during a home burglary last week.
Officers said they arrested 47-year-old Terry Lee Wilson after they saw him driving the stolen SUV near Vista Chino and Landau Boulevard around 12:30 p.m.
The 1999 Lexus LX450 was stolen in the 1000 block of Sierra Way during the residential burglary, according to a release from the Palm Springs Police Department.
Wilson was booked into the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning on felony charges of vehicle theft and possession of a stolen vehicle. His bail was set at $5,000.
The investigation is ongoing.
Officers said they found a set of golf clubs in the stolen SUV and they’re trying to determine if they were also stolen so they can return them to the owner.
If you have any information about the incident or the golf clubs, you’re asked to call Detective Chris Duthaler with the Palm Springs Police Department at 760-323-8133.
