Man in wheelchair hit and killed in Desert Hot Springs
A man in a wheelchair was hit and killed by a car in Desert Hot Springs at 8:09 p.m. Thursday.
Authorities haven’t released the man’s identity yet.
It happened on Palm Drive just south of Hacienda Avenue, according to Desert Hot Springs police. The driver is cooperating with police. No word if drugs or alcohol played a factor into the crash.
Sgt. Larry Gaines with the Desert Hot Springs Police Department said, “We had a white male crossing the roadway in a wheelchair, he was struck by one vehicle that we know of.”
Palm Drive was closed in both directions for about two hours while police investigated the collision.
