Wind Advisory in effect through Thursday evening
A strong area of low pressure is expected to move through Central and Southern California through Friday, bringing strong and gusty onshore winds to the mountains and deserts.
Sustained winds to 40 mph will be possible with gusts 55-60 mph in wind prone areas. Blowing dust and sand will be possible, potentially reducing visibility. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
A wind advisory has been issued for areas along and north of the I-10 corridor in the Coachella Valley from areas just west of Thousand Palms through the Beaumont area in the San Gorgonio Pass.
A wind advisory has also been issued for desert areas east of the mountains in San Diego County.
