Father, daughter identified after deadly crash in Beaumont

Authorities have identified the two victims in Wednesday’s deadly crash in Beaumont.

Officials said 30-year-old Raymond Rivera and his 1-year-old daughter Illyana suffered fatal injuries in the wreck. The crash happened just after 2:00 p.m. at Beaumont Avenue and First Street, just south of Interstate 10.

The Beaumont Police Department said Rivera and his three children were in a Toyota Corolla driving westbound on First Street when a Ford pickup truck heading north on Beaumont Avenue plowed into the driver’s side of the car.

The impact forced the Corolla to collide with a silver Dodge truck, crumpling the smaller car and trapping the family inside, officers said.

Rivera was pronounced deceased at the scene and Illyana and her two siblings were cut from the car and rushed to Desert Regional Medical Center, where Illyana died three hours later, according to the coroner’s office.

The other two children remain in serious but stable condition. Their name’s haven’t been released.

The driver of the Ford was taken to a trauma center with moderate injuries and the driver of the Dodge was treated at the scene for minor injuries, according to officials.

The Beaumont Police Department continues to investigate the cause of the crash. Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to call the Watch Commander at (951) 769-8500.
