2 taken to hospital after rollover crash in La Quinta

Avenue 50 is expected to reopen to eastbound traffic around 12:30 p.m. after a Chevrolet Camaro was involved in a rollover crash Friday morning. The road was closed from Washington Street to Jefferson Street when the car apparently collided with a gardening truck at 7:55 a.m.

According to authorities, two people were taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. Deputies said the victims were complaining of pain. From their report, it didn’t appear that anyone was dealing with significant injuries.

The crash happened on Avenue 50 near Orchard Lane in La Quinta.

Police were on scene turning eastbound traffic around while emergency crews responded to the crash. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

Alcohol and/or drugs aren’t believed to be factors in the crash, according to authorities.
