Hundreds of retro games ready to play at Arcade Expo
From pinball to Pacman and everything in between hundreds of vintage arcade games and pinball machines will be ready to play at Arcade Expo 2.0 in Banning this weekend.
You can leave your quarters at home. The more than 400 arcade games and 400 pinball machines will be set to free play after you buy your tickets at the door.
“We have games that we grew up with that bring us back to that memory that memory of freedom, exploring your childhood through these games and through these characters, and playing pinball, and all the problems growing up disappear when you play games,” said Kenny hardy, co-founder of Arcade Expo.
The Arcade Expo will also feature a King of Kong tournament and a pinball tournament, as well as a panel with game designers who built arcade games in the 1980s.
“We get people coming from all the way from Germany and Austria to come visit this town and see what we have on display here, which is a huge exposition over 40,000 square feet of video games and pinball machines, food, and music fun,” said Jonathon Weeks, his father owns the private collection of retro games.
This is the second annual Arcade Expo. Last year the Guinness World Record for “most people playing pinball simultaneously” was set at the expo.
Tickets for the expo are $35 on Friday, $55 Saturday, and $35 on Sunday. Kids tickets are are $12.50 all three days.
The Expo is being held at 700 South Hathaway Street in Banning.
