Police arrest 5 people after pursuit through Palm Springs

5 people are behind bars after one suspect leads officers on a high speed chase through Palm Springs Wednesday afternoon.

According to Palm Springs Police just before noon, they got a call of some suspicious drug activity at a home on the 4300 block of East Mesquite Avenue.

Officers arrived on scene, and one man ran to a nearby car and sped off. There was a pursuit of that vehicle, that was later determined to have been stolen, but that driver got away.

Officers then returned back to the home on Mesquite Avenue and contacted several subjects still at the location. One of the suspects, Melissa Campos, tried to run away but was caught a short time later.

Campos was arrested without further incident. Four other suspects were also arrested without incident. The suspects were later transported to the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning.
