Police searching for suspects who shot at Desert Hot Springs home

Gunshots send Desert Hot Springs Police into a neighborhood near a school late Tuesday afternoon.

According to Desert Hot Springs Police at around 4:00, officers responded to the 66-900 Block of Cahuilla Avenue for multiple reports of gunshots being fired in the area and a house struck by bullets.

Witnesses reported seeing several young men with guns running in various directions through the yards in the area. Police say due to the proximity to Cabot Yerxa Elementary School, officers ordered the school locked down for the safety of the students and staff, but was lifted a short time later.

Police were unable to locate the suspects, and there have been no reports of injuries from the shots that were fired at the home. Police are asking that anybody with information regarding the shots fired to call Desert Hot Springs Police.
