Cabot’s Pueblo holds “Evening at the Pueblo” Gala
Many came out Saturday to support a piece of history in the Coachella Valley.
More than 200 people filled Cabot’s Pueblo museum in Desert Hot Springs for their annual “Evening at the Pueblo” gala.
Museum staff said the event is their major fundraising event to not just honor the work of local humanitarian Cabot Yerxa, but to also raise money to support the Coachella Valley’s only homestead museum.
“We want our guests to leave here inspired because this was a very inspiring man,” Cabot’s Museum Foundation Chair John Mahoney said. “We want to continue his good work. We want to continue his story, and we want people to leave here feeling good about being the best they can be.”
The museum also honored long-time community philanthropist Harold Matzner for his work in the area.
Mahoney said they hope to raise about $100,000 for the museum.
