Woman caught on video stealing packages from porch

A woman is now in police custody after she was caught on camera swiping packages from the porch of a family’s home.

On Tuesday a homeowner arrived to his house, near los angeles, to a woman stealing packages off of his front porch.

Police say the suspect, 20-year old Rianna Medina, picked up two packages that had been delivered and left near the front door.

The homeowner started recording her with his cell phone as he confronted her.

Here’s the conversation.

(Homeowner)
“If i were you i would put that down.”

(Medina)
“why?”

(Homeowner)
“because that’s my stuff. i live here.”

(Medina)
“no you don’t.”

Medina was arrested today thanks to tips and helpful social media messages once the video went viral.

The homeowner said, “it was kind of like a lot of adrenaline going through me. so I wasn’t really thinking but I just knew I had to record her to catch her. I’m surprised she was trying to convince me that it’s not my house and that it was her house. I thought it was really funny.”

The homeowner says the packages contained tools and equipment he needs for his appliance repair business.

Medina was booked on suspicion of one felony count of grand theft, with bail set at $25,000.
