Sky Valley home destroyed by early morning fire

Cal Fire rushed to an overnight structure fire in Sky Valley near Desert Hot Springs early Monday morning. It started just after 2:30 a.m. in the 71000 block of Dillon Road.

Crews say when they arrived on scene a large home was engulfed in flames. Nearby vegetation was also exposed. Crews say strong winds played a factor in fighting the blaze.

There was nobody home at the time of the fire. The house is a total loss.

No injuries reported, and no word on how the fire started.
