Deputies investigate shooting in Twentynine Palms

Deputies in TwentyninePalms are investigating a shooting that resulted in a leg injury on Saturday night. Authorities said they were called to the 6400 block of Desert Queen Avenue after shots rang out at about 10 p.m.

Authorities said they found a man with a wound to his right leg.

But at this time, it’s unclear if the bullet grazed the victim’s leg, or if the wound was caused by debris from a cinder block wall, which deputies said appears to have been struck by one of the rounds.

The victim was treated by paramedics at the scene and didn’t need to go to the hospital.

No suspects have been identified.

Deputies collected evidence from the shooting and they’re sending it to the sheriff’s crime lab as they continue to investigate.
