2 people arrested for felony vandalism at Motel 6 in Palm Springs

Two people were arrested after a disturbance at a Motel 6 near Indian Canyon Drive in Palm Springs Tuesday morning.

Palm Springs police got the call just after 7 a.m. that property was damaged at the motel, located at 63950 20th Avenue near Indian Canyon Drive. Callers reported someone was breaking a window in one of the rooms and that someone had possibly overdosed on drugs.

There were also reports of suspects possibly breaking into vehicles at the motel.

When officers arrived, witnesses pointed them to a dark gray Nissan Altima that was allegedly tied to the investigation. When an officer tried to stop the car, the driver sped away triggering a police pursuit with speed reaching up to 80 MPH.

Authorities said the chase went west on 20th Avenue and north on Worsley. The driver pulled over at Worsley Road and Dillon Road at 8:20 a.m. Two men and a woman were initially detained, but officers said two of them were ultimately arrested.

The suspects were identified as 21-year-old Estany Galvez and 19-year-old Aldo Cordova, both from Desert Hot Springs.

Galvez is facing charges of evading arrest, resisting arrest, felony vandalism and possession of narcotics for sale. Cordova is facing charges of felony vandalism, PSPD officers said in a release.
