La Quinta woman arrested for DUI

A La Quinta woman remained in custody Friday morning after police said they arrested her for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

During that stop, officers said Nancy Jackson, 75, put her car into reverse and struck the patrol officer’s car.

No reason was given as to why.

Officers said they stopped Jackson’s vehicle at Adams Street and Highway 111 for vehicle code violations at 12:51 a.m. Friday morning.

She was taken into custody for driving under the influence and booked into the Riverside County Jail in Indio.

No officers were injured during the incident.

Jackson was in custody later Friday morning on $3,500 dollars bail, and expected in court in November.
