Concertgoers gear up for Desert Trip

Streets are crowded, hotels are sold out, and grocery stores are packed with tourists. Desert Trip is upon us. Some people have traveled for weeks to watch their favorite artists rock the night away. Concertgoers spent their morning picking up last minute necessities for the weekend. “Day one is loading up the house, getting ready for the party. We’ve been shopping all day,” said one concertgoer. Many tourists loaded their shopping carts with sunscreen, beer, alcohol, chips, water, and snacks. Sandy Lasko took a 14-day road trip across the country to watch her favorite artists perform. Her journey started in Annapolis, Maryland. Lasko says this weekend is gives her the opportunity to travel back in time. “A three-day event that I missed when I was younger. I kind of want to have the rock ‘n’ roll experience. I want to feel young again,” said Lasko. And just like Lasko, everyone is excited for a blast from the past this weekend. “We’ve seen all of these groups in the past, like in the 60’s we saw them when they were young and now we’ve come to see them in their vintage years,” said one concertgoer from Austin, Texas. Many say it’s going to be an “epic classic-rock trip.”
