More than 200 artists from across the country will have their works showcased starting Thursday with the kick-off of the 35th annual La Quinta Arts Festival.

Set to run through March 5 at La Quinta Civic Center Park, the annual art celebration hosted by the nonprofit La Quinta Arts Foundation raises funds for emerging artists while featuring the works of artists from the U.S., Argentina, Canada, the Czech Republic and Nicaragua.

According to the foundation, $1.23 million in college scholarships have been awarded to 376 emerging art professionals from festival proceeds since its inception.

Along with the artworks, attendees can enjoy the 35th Anniversary cake presented by the La Quinta High School Culinary Arts Program, the Beach Ball Treasure Hunt, live music and food.

The festival will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Tickets are $17 for a single day ticket and $22 for a multi-day pass. Children 12 and under get in free.

You can buy tickets online or at the festival gates.
