10 things every parent or guardian should know as their kids are going back to school

The Palm Springs Unified School District is hosting a zoom meeting for Parents tomorrow. The title of the conference is 10 Things A Parent Show Know. An English and Spanish-speaking virtual meeting is set up for you all to register.

PSUSD official says Parent/Guardian and staff input created this list. They want to encourage all Parents and guardians to join this meeting so that everyone knows what to expect this year.

"A lot of the concerns from the parents were, what if my child has an allergy?" said Lillibeth Hernandez. "You know, where can I... things constantly change? Food allergies, emergencies, emergency contact information". The form below will inform everyone what's expected, where parents can go, and what resources are available at their fingertips.

This Tuesday's workshop is virtual only, but PSUSD has in-person and virtual seminars that will happen throughout the school year.

"It's just very important to be included in everything that's going on in your school sites," said Hernandez. It keeps you informed, the kids feel included when you're having these conversations at home, to know that the parents are knowing about what's going on in the community.
