Inland Empire gas price tops $3.00 for first time since January 2016

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in the Inland Empire surpassed $3 on Thursday, for the first time since Jan. 11, 2016, increasing four-tenths of a cent to $3.002.

The increase comes one day after a 35-day streak of increases in Riverside and San Bernardino counties totaling 19.8 cents ended when it was unchanged, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is 1.4 cents more than one week ago, 14.6 cents higher than one month ago and 50.3 cents greater than one year ago.
