Daylight savings time starts this Saturday night, beware of drowsy drivers

It’s that time of year again, Daylight saving time is this weekend and folks will have to set their clocks one hour head and lose some sleep on Saturday night and the time change could make roads more dangerous.

The signs of spring are all around us. The winter snow atop our local mountains begins to melt. The desert floor blanketed with green plants — sporting beautiful blooming desert flowers. But it’s not all good news for some…

Recent surveys show that most people in the state don’t like the time change and they say it causes problems for them at work.

Springing forward could make roads more dangerous too. The California Highway Patrol will be on the lookout for drowsy drivers who didn’t get some shut-eye.

Driving tired can be just as bad as driving impaired. According to CHP — sleep related crashes are becoming more common for younger drivers. And in 2016 33 people died from collisions caused by sleepy drivers.
