Attorney for John Felix may have violated court order

The attorney for the ex-con accused of killing two Palm Springs police officers may have violated a court order that forbids attorneys from speaking to the media about the case.

A court hearing for 26-year-old John Hernandez Felix was postponed Friday, as prosecutors continue to question whether his attorney John Dolan violated that court order by recently appearing on a local news segment regarding his work as a defense attorney, though he did not make direct reference to Felix.

Dolan said the segments may have been edited in such a way to appear as though he were being interviewed regarding the case.

Felix faces charges that could land him on death row if he’s convicted of killing officers Jose Gil Vega and Lesley Zerebny last October. He’s due back in court May 5.
