Celebrities hit the links for good cause in Warburton celebrity golf tournament

After a night of rockin’ and rollin’ at the Warburton Jam Session, golfers hit the links for more fundraising Saturday. The annual event brought out 75 celebrities to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Patrick Warburton, the event’s host, said he’s honored people come back year after year.

“We all get to come out here and party with a purpose. So we play golf and have auctions and concerts and raise money for St. Jude,” Warburton said.

Probably the youngest person out on the course is Kathryn Newton from “Big Little Lies”. The actress said she grew up golfing.

“I’m from Miami and I live on a golf course. I’ve been playing my whole life, since I was 8 years old when my dad was like, ‘You’re going to play golf or you’re not eating’ and I played in high school,” Newton said.

Every player agreed there’s nothing better than golfing for a good cause.

“It makes it worthwhile knowing that what we’re doing here is raising funds for such a worthy place and there is no place more important than St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital,” Warburton said.
