The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in the Inland Empire rose one-tenth of a cent Tuesday to $3.006, one day after a stretch of 39 increases in 40 days ended with a decrease of two-tenths of a cent.

The average price in Riverside and San Bernardino counties rose 20.7 cents during the stretch of increases that pushed it to its highest amount since Jan. 11, 2016, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is eight-tenths of a cent more than one week ago, 10.1 cents higher than one month ago and 36.2 cents greater than one year ago.
