3.6 magnitude earthquake hits SW of Salton City

The United States Geological Survey reported a 3.6 magnitude earthquake struck about 7 miles southwest of Salton City on Tuesday morning.

The earthquake was reported at 10:14 a.m. No damage was reported.

Officials at Sea View Elementary School, located near Salton City, said the school was evacuated for a short time during the shaking. Everyone was back in class immediately after the quake.

The earthquake comes after two earthquakes hit areas around the Coachella Valley on Monday.
