Coroner identifies big rig driver killed in Cactus City accident

UPDATE: The Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner identified 57-year-old Son Pham of El Monte, Calif. as the driver of the big rig that overturned on Interstate-10 Friday night.

One person is dead after a big rig rolled over on the westbound side of the 10 freeway in Desert Center.

CHP says the crash happened at 11:02 p.m. Friday night east of Eagle Mountain Road.

Riverside County Hazardous Materials Team and Riverside County Environmental Health was requested to the incident due to a diesel fuel leak from a ruptured saddle tank.

One lane was closed while the fuel spill was cleaned up, but was re-opened at 2:42 a.m.

The identity of the person killed and the cause of the crash are not known at this time.
