Murder investigation underway in east Valley
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department told KESQ News Channel 3 and CBS Local 2 that authorities in the east Valley were investigating a murder Saturday night.
Investigators from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department’s Thermal Division and the Central Homicide Unit found an adult woman dead around 5 p.m. in the area of Avenue 63 and Monroe Street; an unincorporated area of Thermal. Someone familiar with the area said it is near the cemetery by the Torres-Martinez Indian Reservation referred to as “the hill.”
Deputy Armando Munoz said it is being treated as an isolated incident and that there is no threat to the public. No other details have been made available at this time.
