Authorities investigate after plane overshoots runway at Thermal airport

The single-engine plane overshot the runway at 2:18 p.m. The runway was temporarily shut down but no flights were effected by the incident.
The airplane is a Piper PA-46, which departed from Tucson, Arizona. The single-engine plane veered off the right side of the runway after touching down and tipped up on its nose, according to Ian Gregor of the Federal Aviation Administration.

Wind is also being looked into as a possible factor for the plane overshooting the runway.
