Area gas prices dip slightly

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in the Inland Empire dropped two-tenths of a cent today to $2.977 after being unchanged the two previous days.

The average price in Riverside and San Bernardino counties has dropped eight times in 11 days, decreasing 2.4 cents, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is 1.7 cents less than one week ago but two-tenths of a cents more than one month ago and 16.3 cents higher than one year ago.
