Juvenile accidentally shoots older sister in Indio

Officers responded to a shooting in Indio Wednesday at about 8:45 p.m. after a juvenile accidentally shot his older sister, according to the Indio Police Department. The woman showed up at JFK Memorial Hospital with a non life-threatening gunshot wound.

Police didn’t release the address where the shooting occurred. The hospital “went into lockdown” as a precaution after the victim arrived.

According to Sgt. Dan Marshall, the woman is expected to be okay and there are no charges filed, as the shooting was deemed accidental.
