Former Palm Desert pitcher Jeremiah Estrada signs with Cubs

Estrada has signed with the Chicago Cubs for $1 million dollars after they drafted him in the 6th round (195th overall) in the 2017 MLB Draft.

The former Aztec ace had a full scholarship offer to UCLA, but has decided to turn professional and join the defending World Series champions just before the MLB Draft signing deadline on Friday at 5:00 p.m. ET.

In the contract, above the $1 million dollars, there is also a guaranteed 4 years of college tuition, which includes room and board.
