Matthew Pearce

KESQ

Matthew Pearce joined KESQ News Channel 3 as a multimedia journalist and weekend weathercaster in June 2026.

Matthew's passion for broadcasting began in high school, where he first got involved in television production in 2018. In 2021, he stepped in front of the weather wall for the first time while forecasting for Eagle TV 2.0 at Santa Margarita Catholic High School.

He would attend Saddleback College in Mission Viejo from 2022 to 2024. During that time, he spent a year and a half in radio broadcasting, producing and hosting a weekly live show while also serving as the play-by-play voice of Saddleback Bobcats football on Saddleback Radio.

Matthew's passion for television extends beyond weather. Growing up around sports inspired him to pursue a degree in Sports Journalism at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University.

While at ASU, Matthew worked as a sports reporter and weathercaster for Cronkite News and served as a production assistant for Arizona Daily Mix on CW7.

While he’s not at work, Matthew enjoys watching sports, meeting new people and spending time with friends and family.

Born and raised in Orange County, Matthew looks forward to telling meaningful stories across the Coachella Valley, a place he grew up visiting.
