Local Measures Cover Pot, Greenhouse Gases And Dancing

LOS ANGELES (AP) – Power shifts in national politics yesterday garnered big headlines, but residents across California had plenty to say on matters municipal.

In Berkeley, voters passed a measure to reduce greenhouse gas emissions 25 percent by 2020. They also approved a measure calling for the city to ask the House of Representatives to initiate impeachment proceedings against President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney.

And in Santa Cruz voters approved two ballot measures that could deny water and sewer services to planned campus expansion at the University of California, Santa Cruz.
