Hughes Pleads ‘Not Guilty’ To Murder Charges
INDIO -A security official-turned-preacher pleaded not guilty today to charges that he fatally shot a Cabazon Band of Mission Indians tribal leader and two others in 1981.
James “Jimmy” Hughes faces three counts of murder and one count of conspiracy in the deaths of Ralph Arthur Boger, Patricia Roberta Castro, and Alfred Alvarez, who was vice chairman of the Cabazon Band of Mission Indians Tribal Council.
They were found dead on July 1, 1981, at 35040 Bob Hope Drive in Rancho Mirage.
