Utility Companies Put Holiday Hold On Service Disconnections

By News Channel 3newsline3@kesq.comEven if the electricity and gas bill are past due, the Christmas lights will stay on and the turkey in the oven will stay piping hot.

Southern California Edison and The Gas Company say they will not cut off anyone’s utilities between December 21st and January 3rd.

The announcement came after a consumer advocacy group slammed the utility companies for cutting off customers during these tough economic times.

The utility companies say they want to work with their customers, stressing that the worst thing you can do is not pay the bill and not call them for help.
