Police Officer Pleads ‘Not Guilty’ To Sex Assault Charges After Alleged Skinny Dip
A Cathedral City police officer pleaded not guilty Monday morning to charges that he stripped off his uniform while on duty and jumped into a pool naked with three women.
John Fox Jr. faces charges of assault under the color of authority and attempted sexual penetration — both felonies — and misdemeanor indecent exposure and sexual battery.
KESQ tried talking with Fox after his court hearing. He remained silent when our crew asked, “Did you jump in the pool naked with the three women? “Do you have anything to say to the people swore to protect and serve?”
Fox is required to surrender himself into custody within 10 days and post $25,000 bond. Fox’s next court date was scheduled for Nov. 30.
Fox, who has been placed on paid administrative leave, allegedly went skinny-dipping while investigating a loud noise complaint on Sept. 29, according to Michael Jeandron of the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office.
While in the pool, the officer allegedly inappropriately touched one of the women, Jeandron said.
The owner of the home, who was not swimming, called 911 to report the naked officer, he said.
Fox put his clothes back on and left before officers arrived, Jeandron said.
