Power Outage Hits Cathedral City

More than 1,600 customers experienced a power loss in Cathedral City Monday morning, according to Southern California Edison.

The power went out at 5:50 a.m., but most customers had their power restored in 30 seconds.

As of 11:20 a.m., 91 customers were still without power, and SCE officials had no estimate of when the power would be restored.

They blame a bad underground cable for the disruption.

The 91 customers affected live in an area south of Dinah Shore, west of Wishing Wells Trail, north of Arrowhead Road, and east of Via Altamira.
