Coachella Police Search For Armed Robber

For the second time in a week, a Fashion Factory store has been robbed at gunpoint, a sheriff’s sergeant said.

The robbery in a store in the 49000 block of Grapefruit Boulevard was reported at 6:11 p.m. Saturday, Sgt. Anthony Baur said.

“A male suspect entered the store, approached the employees and brandished a handgun demanding cash,” Baur said. “The suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the store on foot.”

The masked suspect was described as white or Hispanic man with a light complexion, about 5 feet 10 inches and 190 pounds, wearing a black mask, a gray pullover with a large collar and dark pants, Baur said. The suspect spoke English and Spanish.

The La Quinta Fashion Factory store was robbed at gunpoint on Tuesday, and Baur said investigators are looking to see if the two cases are related.
