Second Arrest Made In Palm Desert Bank Break-In

Riverside County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a second man suspected of burglarizing a First Bank branch in Palm Desert.

The bank, located on the 39500 block of Washington Ave. in Palm Desert, was broken into during the overnight hours on March 15, according to sheriff’s department spokeswoman Herlinda Valenzuela.

Two days later, deputies arrested Chad Green and booked him on charges of commercial burglary.

As the investigation continued, Valenzuela said they identified a second person who may have played a role.

Fliers were sent to local police agencies and casinos.

On Thursday morning, a security guard at Fantasy Springs Casino notified the lead detective that the suspect was at the casino. At 3:45 a.m., security detained him and waited for deputies to arrive.

Ryan Aaron Shelton, 30, of Thermal, was arrested and booked at the Indio jail for the burglary, possession of stolen property and violating his parole.
