Chaz Bono, Fiancee Call Off Palm Springs Wedding, Engagement
Chaz Bono, star of ABC’s “Dancing With The Stars” and child of former Palm Springs Mayor Sonny Bono, confirmed to KESQ News Channel 3 he and his fiancee have called off their wedding plans.
News of the shattered engagement first made headlines on TMZ.com, where Bono’s representative said, “They leave this relationship with great love, respect and affection toward one another. No further amplification will be forthcoming and they ask that you respect their privacy at this time.”
Seeking confirmation of the facts surrounding the breakup, Bono tweeted to KESQ on Monday, “Thanks for your concern about our separation. I’m doing fine, and we remain on good terms with nothing but respect and affection 4 each other.”
Chaz and Jennifer Elia were scheduled to get married in Palm Springs next year, where his mother Cher would have paid for the ceremony and his step-mother, Rep. Mary Bono Mack, would have presided over it.
He proposed to Elia on his OWN-TV show “Being Chaz.”
