Christmas Sales Still Ringing In

Shoppers have spent so much green they are likely in the red, and yet they are still on the hunt.

“You get everything much cheaper, like 75 percent off, instead of paying retail price. It’s unfortunate that it’s one day after that you get the deals,” shopper Jose Flores said.

It’s “Mega Monday” where shoppers go big or go home.

“My husband got a couple shirts cheap, like 50 percent off,” shopper Katie Lussier said.

It’s reportedly the third biggest shopping day of the year, behind Black Friday and Christmas Eve. It falls on a perfect day for retailers.

“You’ve been stuck in the house all weekend, you get out, and it’s a beautiful day,” shopper Edward Bowling said.

Stores across the country opened early to accommodate the extra business.

As much as $8 billion will be spent on the day after Christmas shopping. Experts say this week could account for as much as 10 percent of all holiday sales.

“Woah, I put a little dent into that,” Flores said.

The 26th is also your chance to buy all things Christmas.

“Christmas things that didn’t sell before Christmas for next year,” Bowling noted.

The leftover decor gets marked down big time — 50 to 90 percent off in some cases.

“Everyone’s watching their money and whatnot, and we want the best prices to meet our needs,” shopper Bobbi Moore said.

The day after Christmas: your chance to get mega gifts for meager prices.
